Dogs Mrs L Gow (Lyncraeg)
My thanks to the Cavalier club for the opportunity to judge at this prestigious show and for the way the committee coped so amazingly and good humouredly with rearranging the venue at such short notice. Thanks also to my stewards whose calm efficiency was such a help and most of all to the exhibitors who brought their lovely dogs under me.
The hotel had made a huge effort to accommodate the show but to allow both sexes to be judged at the same time the rings were quite small which made it difficult for some dogs to get into their stride. Some dogs also found the bouncy floor rather disconcerting.
I was impressed with the overall quality of the dogs and encouraged to see more tricolours being shown. Blenheims are well represented as are wholecolours but over recent years there have been fewer quality tricolours.
As I haven’t shown much recently quite a few of the dogs were new to me and it was interesting to judge dogs I had only previously known from critiques. It was a privilege to have so many quality dogs entered and some decisions about placings were very close.

Baby Puppy (6 Entries, 3 Absent)
1st Liverton-Ovey’s Halosey King Of My Heart
Promising 5 month old ruby, lovely head with sweet expression, good reach of neck and a level topline with good tail carriage. A confident puppy who moved and showed well.
2nd Floyd’s Laurami High Hopes Barney
Also 5 months, this richly marked blenheim puppy had a pleasing head and and nice outline, slightly longer in body than 1. A good moving puppy.
3rd Taylor’s Luvtayl’s Million Dreams
Veteran (7, 2)
1st Bubb’s Ch Wandris Evanly Legacy JW
This handsome well broken 7 year old blenheim is everything you would expect in a champion. He is well balanced with a lovely gentle expression, large dark eyes, good pigment, tapered muzzle and correct bite. With a slightly arched neck, well laid back shoulders, level topline, and correct tail carriage he moved steadily and was strong in both front and rear movement.
2nd Greenall’s Ch/Am/Int Ch Charalier Dress To The Nines for Charlesworth JW
Also a champion this well constructed Blenheim boy with an attractive head was in good form for his 12 years. He has a rich well marked coat with a slight wave which was a bit on the blow and his teeth have seen better days but he showed with great enthusiasm and obviously enjoyed his day out.

1st Rathbone & Pal’s Brymarden Flawless Blush
This young blenheim took my eye as he came into the ring. He is a lovely size and has good conformation, a gentle expression, dark eye, correct bite and black nose. His straight silky coat is well broken and a rich chestnut. A promising youngster in a strong class who I couldn’t resist for the Reserve CC today. I wish him and his young owner all the best in the future.
2nd Cunningham’s Moonvale Vito Verheyen
Exceptionally well balanced blenheim, mature for his age, rich chestnut markings and smooth silky coat. He has a classic head with beautiful symmetrical markings and a good reach of neck which flows into good shoulders a well rounded chest, a level topline and good tail carriage. A lovely happy boy who moved with reach and drive.

Special Graduate Blenheim & Tricolour (6, 3)
1st Jackson’s Fortunamajor Perseus JW
Lovely headed tricolour heavily marked with rich tan, straight front and deep chest with good ribcage, short coupled. Moved happily but could have had a bit more drive.
2nd Dawson’s Luphenex Highland Fling
Lively richly marked blenheim who was difficult to assess on the move. Longer in back and would have preferred a bit more reach of neck. Silky coat of good length.
3rd Carr-Tomlinson’s Lorankas Bryn Terfel at Gerallyn
Special Graduate Black & Tan & Ruby (1, 0)
1st Gamble’s Loranks’s I’ve Got The Look for Lisgarth
Only one in this class but a quality ruby with a gleaming silky coat. Gentle masculine head and dark eye, well tapered muzzle and rich pigment. Nicely sloping neck into level back and well carried tail. A good and happy mover.
Post Graduate (6, 3)
1st Taylor’s Revdvicki Heavenly Chance
Smaller typical tri dog with a gentle expression and well set long ears. Silky coat. He has a nice outline and showed happily.
2nd Kluge & Majcherczyk’s Arche Atelier De Reve
Nicely marked tri boy with enough tan, attractive head though would have preferred a bigger eye. Straight silky coat. Longer in body than winner.
3rd Barwell’s Charlottetown Golden Touch
Mid Limit (12, 2)
1st Levy & Sedgwick’s Pascavale Tyson
A well made neat tri dog fairly solidly marked with rich tan markings who moved steadily and showed well and happily. He has a gentle expression with well tapered muzzle, good pigment and the desired large dark. Although small he was well proportioned and well bodied with a straight silky coat. I felt he represented a typical toy spaniel not exaggerated in any way. In the line up where he competed against against so many worthy dogs I was happy to award him the CC.
2nd Lovel’s Juzandia Keverne at Lovetrac
This beautifully marked blenheim has such a gentle expression and well proportioned body. His lovely head is framed with long silky well set ears and he has large dark eyes. I think he would have benefited from a bigger ring to show off his enthusiastic reach and drive. His coat was glossy and of good length.

Surprised to find only one dog present in Limit today but he was a quality black and tan who deserved his win. He has a good reach of neck flowing into a level topline, a good depth of chest and is slightly longer in the body . Soft expression with large dark eye, good fill under the eyes and correctly tapered muzzle. Moved well and confidently.

This is a dog I have always admired and at 4 years old feel he is now looking his best. Beautifully presented he has a well balanced outline, a long straight silky coat and well broken chestnut markings with a lozenge to complete the picture. He has a typical head with large dark eyes and good pigment, a lovely reach of neck, topline and tail set and moved enthusiastically with reach and drive.
