Mrs P Sidgwick (Paulian) |
| Thank you everyone for your entries and kind words of support. I felt so at home back in the cavalier ring once more and really enjoyed my time with you all and your wonderful cavaliers. There were some quality classes today and I could have happily given out more CC’s. Unusually I felt dogs were stronger than bitches on the day. On the negative side I found many close behind and lacking in rear drive, whether the dogs were affected by the cold hall or the polished surface of the ring, I had to judge as I saw on the day. That said I was delighted with my final line ups, especially those short listed on the day, and pleased to hear that my Dog CC winner had taken his 3rd CC later in the day, making him the latest cavalier Champion, Well Done. |

Ricksbury Roosevelt A lovely start, eye catching 8 month Blenheim youngster. First impressions as he walks in are his rich clear chestnut markings to quality silky coat, well broken and contrasting with the pearly white and dense pigmentation. He is well balanced with ample leg length, well ribbed with level topline and good turn of stifle. His head has width of skull, with high set ears and glorious dark round eyes, alert and full of fun at all times. Shown and handled to perfection, steady on the move with reach and drive, although alone here a very worthy Best Puppy in Breed. |

Llapsttam Luther Vandross I have watched this quality youngster since he entered the ring as a young puppy and was delighted to be given the opportunity to judge him. He presents a super outline in profile, head held high, reachy neck set into well laid back shoulders, firm level topline, well ribbed body, ample leg length to balance, good turn of stifle. Masculine head, broad flat skull, high set full ears framing the face. The icing on the cake his quality rich Ruby colour to silky coat with required feathering. He does not disappoint on the move as he strides out with reach and drive keeping that topline and tail set. One that can’t be far from attaining top honours, I short listed him in my final 4 for the ticket. |

His body perfectly balanced, from elegant neck, well laid shoulder, level topline, well angulated rear quarters. His coat well broken rich chestnut and clear white markings long and silky with required feathering. A very worthy Champion. Res CC. |

Calonlan Zeus Quality Tri, sturdy well ribbed body with good bone yet not oversized. Masculine head, broad skull with high set ears, dark round eyes well cushioned, good reach of neck, set into well laid back shoulders and firm level topline. Although heavier marked, this does not detract as he has clear white contrasting with rich tan markings presenting an attractive picture. Just not as steady on the move as winner. |

Carsan In Your Dreams Thought this smart B&T was my winner when he came into the class, he is pleasing for size and looks the picture in profile, standing four square with elegant neck, level topline and well balanced, attentive to his handler at all times. Just lost out on front movement coming towards, as his rear action was faultless, a real showman. |

Chadwick Perfect Tonight at Merryoth JW (Imp USA) What an eyecatcher, this young male is just coming to his best now, First appearances are his rich chestnut well broken silky coat with required feathering, with clear contrasting pearly white markings, easy to manage and not excessive in any way, just as a cavalier should be. He has the classic head, broad flat skull with high set ears, glorious dark round appealing eyes well cushioned under, with moderate muzzle all enhanced by black pigmentation. Elegant neck set into well laid back shoulders, level topline, well ribbed body and strong rear quarters complete the picture. He did not disappoint on the move, striding out with reach and drive, topline held and tail flowing off topline to complete the picture. Pleased to award him the Dog CC and BOB, and later delighted to hear that he had taken his 3rd CC at the breed show which followed, Congratulations on your new Champion |

Ir Ch Chantismere Cillian Cjw’25, Cw’25, Jun Ch Although placed 3rd in this strong class, I felt this dog worthy of a mention. It is hard to breed such quality tricolours and this dog fits the bill in many ways. Firm well constructed body, super rib and well angulated rear quarters, His head is broad in skull with well set ears, dark round eyes well cushioned under. His classic markings, so hard to attain, the black contrasting with white and those super rich tan markings perfectly placed to enhance the quality of this dog. He shows to perfection, moved out fairly well, I could not deny him this place. |

Kilbarchan’s Moonwalker at Hamhoggs VW I had a dilemma in this class as two cavaliers of very differing types, both worthy veterans but decisions have to be made. I chose the larger Blenheim male who I felt was holding his 10 years so well, firm well ribbed body, no sign of weakness, his head showing very few signs of aging, eyes still clear and coat still of great quality for age. On the move he strides out, still powering around the ring, pleased to award him Best Veteran in Breed and delighted to hear he had taken Toy Veteran Group 3 later in the day, Well done. |

Kinvaar Airy Fairy Although alone this Tri bitch does not disappoint, firm well constructed body, well sprung rib with good angles to front and rear, she is moderate in head, with dark round eyes, shallow in stop tapering gently to muzzle. She has the promise of a good coat, heavier marked with clear white collar and legs contrasting with the required rich tan markings, and those wonderful full Tri ears, One that will take time to mature, gain in confidence and finish off. |

Another class where movement played a big part in my decisions, on first entering the ring in my head I placed these three in a very different order, but had to change this opinion after later assessments. I did begin to wonder if the cold of the hall, or the surface on the floor was affecting some as the day went by. |
