Dogs Miss H Long (Arroline)
I’d like to thank the committee of Darlington for inviting me to judge and all the exhibitors for their entries today, some travelling quite a distance, and for their acceptance of my decisions. The sun shone all day but with the ring in the shade most of the morning the lush grass ring took until after the dog judging to dry out. The day soon turned rather warm so I took into account both the wet grass and the hot weather when assessing the dogs.
My key winners received gifts of Gin in a nod to the late Mr Rob Samson who put my name forward for this, my first CC appointment.
I was pleased with the overall entry, both the limit classes holding some lovely dogs who I’m sure a number will pick up their titles soon. My one comment overall would be on temperaments, there were some nervous dogs – a key feature of the breed is their wonderful temperaments, it is worth watching carefully.
