So lucky with the weather – could not have been better, with a nice breeze to keep dogs cool. Ground was great, the committee have really worked hard to make everything perfect. The dogs were a delight to judge. All were clean and well presented, and of course, so happy to do all that was asked of them. I was very impressed with them. Some were very lacklustre today, and showed little spirit. They just wanted to amble around the ring. Several had weak pasterns in front, which gave impression that they had hare feet. Do watch this, good bit of road walking needed here. My dog who was Best of Breed just shone but was hard pressed by a young bitch from Junior who I think will be a rising star in the breed. On the whole I think the bitches were much stronger than the dogs, quality-wise. I thank all for your support. Thanks also to my very efficient stewards, Jean Powell and Pete Styles who really kept things moving along.

Promising young ruby dog. Loved his head and beautiful soft expression. Eyes very dark and large, and round. Ears were long with plenty of feathering. Good muzzle and mouth. Chest beginning to develop nicely as were the ribs. Short coupled with a level back. Moderate bone. Well turned stifle. Moved well.
2nd Vaughan’s Diddlidors Starman
Such a baby and so sweet, nearly ended up in my handbag! Has to develop, but everything in place. Also has a lovely soft expression. Good large, dark round eyes, good muzzle length and lovely long well feathered ears. Shoulders well laid and topline level. Excellent upper arm. Good moderate bone, short in loin, tail well placed and carried well Tight well cushioned feet. Movement was a bit all over the place, but just a raw baby at the moment.

Blenheim boy with good head and lozenge. Skull was flat with shallow stop and muzzle correct length. Large dark, round eye. Muzzle good length Neck had some length and was nicely arched. Shoulders well laid. Good upper arm Good mouth Ears long with excellent feathering. Chest developing nicely and short strong loin ensured a strong level topline. Tail well set and carried well on the move. Particularly liked the strong rear quarters and the well turned stifle. This allowed for excellent drive in rear and free moving action desired. Lovely long, silky coat, well presented. Best Puppy in Breed.
2nd Parsons’ Peakdowns Marcopolo at Anjomil
Quality dog, Blenheim, complete with lozenge, not so animated as winner, and this took the edge off his overall demeanour Good head properties with excellent eye. Nice ears with plenty of feathering. Well bodied with well developed chest and rib. Short strong loin. Topline held at all times Preferred stifles of winner. Moved well.

Strong masculine, Blenheim dog, complete with lozenge. Excellent dark eyes with melting expression. Flat skull and good ear set and had lovely feathering. Thought lips a little long which, for me, spoiled an otherwise excellent head. Slight arch to neck and shoulders well laid. Well sprung ribs with level topline. Good quality bone, and nicely cushioned feet. Good turn to stifle and tail in balance with body. Excellent mover. Coat quality long and silky and beautifully presented. Pushed hard for top honours.
2nd Lewis’ Carleeto Star Dust
Loved this b/t dog. Unfortunately, the standard can get in the way! Skull too domed and stop too steep. A little too short in neck which brought his shoulders more upright and chest not in evidence. Well ribbed with plenty of spring to them. Short coupled with well set on tail and good well angulated rear quarters. Unfortunately on the move he was inclined to crab. Compact feet with good cushioned pads. Very well coated and presentation very good.

Very arractive Blenheim dog complete, with lozenge, well proportioned and well presented. Good flat skull and well set ears with plenty of feathering. Large dark round eye and good mouth and lips. Correct length to neck, with arch, and shoulders well laid. Good upper arm length, which gave some forechest. Body strong and level with well sprung rib, level back and short coupled. Nicely angulated rear quarters and well cushioned feet. He was a little lacklustre on the move, as several good dogs were today and this took the edge off on the move. Definitely one for the future.
2nd Crane’s Cranvarl Washington JW
Very attractive well balanced dog, who had something I have not noticed before - chubby cheeks is the best way to describe it. Had fill under eyes, but seemed to have rather a puffy muzzle. Good neck set into well angulated shoulders. Good spring of rib and short coupled. Topline level and well angulated rear quarters. Excellent feet and good quality bone. Again, a bit lack-lustre on the move.

Blenheim, complete with desired lozenge on back of skull. Excellent head properties, the flat skull, those lovely large dark eyes. Well set ears and good muzzle with cushioning under eyes present. I know markings can be deceptive, but he did have a slight dip behind shoulders. Some forechest present and short coupled body. Good strong rear quarters and turn to stifle. Movement, like many others today, lacked that elegant action I was looking for.
2nd Bloice’s Scotlass Power Of Love JW ShCM
Lovely head, but rather too pretty for a dog. A little too domed. Lovely dark, round eye and well filled underneath. Another Blenheim, well presented. Excellent shoulders and neck length. Little longer in loin than some. Movement lack vigour.

Very sweet Blenheim boy with lozenge. Excellent flat skull and those lovely dark, large eyes. He really did not make the most of himself today and lacked that ‘look at me’ look I always look for when awarding those top honours. Neck of good length with some arch. Shoulders well laid and ribs well sprung. Nice short loin and strong rear quarters. Nicely finished off with good feet. Bit sluggish on the move.
2nd Taylor’s Mastercut Jack Frost from Taybar
Now this one had the attitude! Unfortunately this Blenheim, complete with lozenge, was a little unbalanced being a bit too long in the leg. Good topline and well turned stifles. Good depthg of rib and loin strong. He was one of the best movers being true coming and going, but with a certain amount of zest.

Oh, yes. I loved this dog. This well marked Blenheim dog seemed to have it all Beautifully balanced and animation. Such a lovely head with flat skull Which in turn lifted the ears to correct position. Large dark round eyes, well set which gave the beautiful gentle expression. Good fill under the eyes and nice cushioning on lips. Neck moderate with some arch and blended nicely into shoulders. One of the best ribs of the day having depth and length. Strong short loin. And strong rear quarters with lovely turn to stifle. Excellent fett and bone of good quality. Good free moving action and looked so happy going around the ring. CC.
2nd McMurray’s Harana Jack Jones at Merryoth
Splitting hairs with this one. Another quality Blenheim, beautifully balanced. How did I separate – nit-picking I am afraid. A little more bitchy looking than winner and lips that fraction longer. Great front and ribcage had depth, but wish it had slightly more length. Good bone quality and lovely feet. Excellent upper arm, that many lacked today. Well angulated rear quarters that had strength. Moved out very freely. True coming and going.

What a spritely ruby, 9 year old! Put many younger ones to shame today. Very pleasing head and good eye. Good fill under eye and lips level. Retained his rich colour and looked like a youngster. Good neck and shoulder. Rib had depth, spring and enough length. Short coupled and nice turn to stifle. Well presented. Moved out freely and that tail was wagging in enjoyment.
2nd Randle’s Bretam Sole Survivor
Cheeky ruby, 8 year old with nice flat skull, which of course brought ears up, giving one of the best ear sets of the day. Eyes a little more prominent that I would have liked. Shoulders well placed and front good. Would have liked a longer rib. Little tucked up today, but owner said he had not been well recently, but was recovering nicely. Moved well, but a little carefully – know the feeling!

A real sweety. Just loved her expression. Another Blenheim, well presented. Flat skull with high set ears and lovely large eyes that gave a real melting expression. At the moment she apprars leggy, but hope with maturity will sink into herself. Good length to neck and shoulders well placed. Good length to rib and short in hocks. Could do with a little more turn to stifle. Nice spritely mover. Best Bitch Puppy.
2nd Bloice’s Scotlass Kandy Floss
This young lady was definitely going through the gangly puppy stage and had even longer legs than winner. Loved to see both these puppies when they mature. Lovely gentle expression and large, dark round eyes. Ears well set and neck had arch. Shoulders well laid and upper arm of good length. Level topline and short in loin. Some turn to stifle, but I think this will come when she develops. Moved well.

What a difference a few months makes. Blenheim, with good head and flat skull allowing this high ear set. Somehow she lacked the overall melting expression I wanted. I think the eye was a little small, although very dark and round. Good neck and well placed shoulders. Body now developing nicely and had some forechest and ribs were developing nicely. I would like to see a little more turn to stifle. Moved well coming and going.
2nd Walton’s Jolainey Tinkerbell with Underknoll
Bit of a wriggler, handler convinced her to settle down. Skull could be a little flatter and this spoilt the ear set slightly. Lovely large dark, round eyes, giving gentle expression. Good Lozenge on head. Good bone and feet. Well ribbed with short loin. Nice angulated rear. When settled down will be very nice as a bit erratic on the move.

Tricolour. I was captivated with this bitch. Thought she was lovely from the moment she entered the ring. Such ring presence I could not my eyes off her. On the table she did not disappoint. Beautiful head and skull with ears well set with long feathering. Lovely large, dark, brown eyes, shallow stop and tapered muzzle. Sets herself up really well on the table with moderate neck with slight arch. Well angulated shoulders and excellent upper arm. Just enough chest in front of excellent well sprung rib. Loin was good length and had good muscle tone. Well turned stifle. Excellent feet. With everything in correct place and her happy demeanour, it was no surprise she was a great free moving bitch. So happy with tail wagging. Beautifully presented long silky coat. I was delighted to award he the CC and BOB. She kept showing in the Toy ring and was a joy to watch. The following week I watched her again at SKC where she won her third CC and crown. Well deserved.

Neck of good length with arch. Well laid shoulders and front maturing. Well ribbed with short loin. Topline level and good rear quarters had good turn to stifle. Moved well.

Very heavy looking Tri. Lacked the elegance of some of the others. Rather a heavy head, but nice flat skull. Shoulders were well laid and ribs had plenty of spring. Good turn to stifle. Little sluggish on the move.

Attractive Blenheim that was having a bit of a bad hair day as a little too much wave. Good head with flat skull and lovely large eyes. High set ears with lots of feathering. Shallow stop. And well filled under eyes. Well tapered muzzle. Shoulders well placed and had moderate chest. Shoulders well laid. Well ribbed and of good length Short in loin. Topline better than it looked from a distance and bits of hair sticking up. Excellent hind quarters with nice turn to stifle. Very attuned to her owner, who could not move as fast as the bitch would have liked, so slowed her pace down.
2nd Bartlett & Hitcham’s Korolevsky Lilya
B/T with rather a heavy head. Although nice flat skull ears a bit low. Stop a little steep. Excellent body and lovely shine to coat. Moderate neck with slight arch. Blenheim with lozenge visible. Skull flat, but ears a tad low. Stop I found a little steep. Being a bit picky as these bitches were, in the main lovely, and I feel I have to nit pick on every thing. Great large dark eyes. Neck had arch and shoulders well laid. Thought she was carrying a bit too much weight. Well ribbed and short in loin. Rear quarters good. Did not move as well as winner.

Smart Blenheim, that I later found out was dam of my BOB winner. Not the attitude of her daughter. Pleasing head with flat skull and well set ears, with great feathering. Lovely soft expression. What a lovely head this bitch had. Flat skull, with those high set ears of good length. Slight stop and plenty of fill under the eyes, which were large, dark and well spaced. Moderate neck with slight arch leading to well laid shoulders. Perhaps I would have liked a little less forechest, but ‘nit picking’ again. Well ribbed and topline level. Good strong rear quarters. Excellent coat texture and well presented. Moved freely and true coming and going.

Another gentle expression, but I find, for me, this goes with a slightly lower ear set. Eye not as dark as some and a bit lippy. Excellent body with good neck moderately angulated shoulders. Level topline and good rib. Excellent rear quarters. Not quite so free moving as winner.
