Dogs Miss M Morrison (Lewisisle)
I would like to thank the Officers and Committee of the Richmond Dog Show Society for their kind invitation to judge the Cavalier King Charles Spaniels; I had a very enjoyable day and was made most welcome by everyone. It was nearly 40 years ago that I attended my very first dog Show, Richmond Championship Show, at Ascot Racecourse, with my Oakmills Mr Clancey of Lewisisle under Judge Mrs Leona Woods; little did I think that all those years later I would have the pleasure of judging the Cavaliers for the same Society.
I would like to thank all the exhibitors for entering and giving me the chance to judge some lovely exhibits. Also I would like to thank my two Stewards Natalie Grigg and Heather Carter for keeping the ring flowing during the day. Presentation is one of the many elements of showing, and I did wonder if a few and only a few exhibits had been groomed prior to entering the ring as their coats and ears looked unkempt. Also I was somewhat surprised to find a number of exhibits with dirty or badly tear stained eyes, this was very disappointing to find, as the eyes are the very soul of the Cavalier breed, but thank you to the many exhibits who were presented in a lovely condition.
