Dogs Mr E Engh DVM (Norway)
With just a few exceptions, I was generally unimpressed with this entry. In several classes, especially in some of the lower classes, it was difficult to find dogs that combined type, quality and soundness, and I frequently had to settle for one or the other. Movement coming and going was particularly disappointing.

Best Puppy Dog Hughes’ Loranka’s Moonlight Shadow

Minor Puppy (7 Entries, 0 Absent)
1st Hughes’ Loranka’s Moonlight Shadow
An attractive puppy, still immature in his body, but showing much promise in his head and expression from a nearly flat skull and large, expressive eyes, well set ears. Balanced neck. Attractive outline with firm back. He stood well over his legs and feet and was also the best in the class in movement. Tailset not his fortune. Excellent legs and feet. Beautiful coat and blenheim colour. Best male puppy.
2nd Bayliss’ Castlewytch Red Admaril
A more developed dog with more body. Another with a quite attractive head, but with more lips than necessary. Expressive large eyes. Strong neck. Well angulated in both ends. Deep and capacious body. Moved quite well from the side and as viewed from behind, but with loose elbows coming towards me.
3rd Wimberley & Newman’s Trishine’s Celestial Dream with Finjaro
Res Leach’s Ouzlewell’s Teddy Bear
VHC Smith’s Beaudale Rusty Dusty Blues
Puppy (8, 0)
1st Rix & Berry’s Ricksbury Poldark
A quality, graceful blenheim dog with a lovely, well proportioned and shaped head and excellent expression. Well set ears. Still rather immature in body, rather narrow and gangly at this stage, but with very good potential when he matures. Normal, balanced angulation in front and behind. He moved well, especially from the side, when he put his mind to it.
2nd Searle’s Lanola Santos at Stonepit
Another blenheim, more mature than the winner, making a pleasing profile both standing and moving. Not the head qualities of the winner, somewhat lymphatic and with too much lips and must not be any shorter in muzzle. Well angulated in both ends. The best mover in the class, at all times keeping his silhouette. He has a lovely body and tailset, the latter a very rare occurrence on the day.
3rd Price’s Ouzlewell’s Likely Lad for Almonroyd
Res Bloice’s Scotlass Summer Magic
VHC Kynaston’s Granasil Vontrap
Junior (7, 2) Not the best class.
1st Etheridge’s Shelpet Vanilla Ice at Diddlidors
An athletic blenheim dog who used his legs well, but rather strong all over and his head needs more quality and could be better filled under the eyes. Well set ears. Strong neck. Well angulated in both ends, he has a well made body, but I would not mind him a little shorter in loin. He scored heavily in movement and was one of the soundest dogs of the day.
2nd Lee’s Kelrick Flapjack
Well proportioned, masculine dog with a very pleasing skull and attractive expression. The lack of lip pigmentation caused him to look somewhat asymmetrical. Stood well over his legs, well boned. Lovely coat, tricolor. Fell off more over the croup than I would prefer. Moved quite well from the side, but could improve as seen from behind.

1st Etheridge’s Shelpet Vanilla Ice at Diddlidors
(See Junior)
2nd Caldwell’s Kathysgirls Jaguar
Masculine black and tan dog on the large side, and I definitely would not want any more of him. Strong, masculine head with a flat skull and attractive eyes. Ears could be higher set. Normal neck. Moderate, but balanced angulation in front and behind. I would prefer a shorter loin. Moved acceptably from the side, needs to stabilize in front. Beautiful coat.
3rd Lyond’s Crimbledale Genesis
Post Graduate (7, 2)
1st Hobbs’ Beaconsfylde Catch The Kiss JW ShCM
Powerful blenheim male, clearly the soundest in the class. Attractive body outline. Head rather lymphatic and could do with less lips. Strong neck. Well angulated in front. Firm topline. Quite well set tail. Sound mover from behind and from the side, acceptable from the front. Beautiful coat and colour.
2nd Waddington’s Spindlepoint President JW
Another blenheim, standing still a very attractive dog of excellent type. He scored in head over the winner with more chiseling and quality. Very pleasing expression. Unfortunately more than tended to roach his back and could improve significantly in movement coming and going, acceptable mover from the side. Lovely coat. Well handled.
3rd Caldwell’s Kathysgirls Jaguar
Res Slack’s Willowheart Louis
VHC Norris’ Cinderaic Are You Kidding Criscan
Mid Limit (5, 1)
1st Knight’s Carolus Don Santino JW ShCM
A very attractive Cavalier King Charles indeed, I was relieved to finally have a dog like this in the ring. Excellent skull, almost flat, well set, long ears. Attractive expression. Enough length of muzzle. Lovely body silhouette, he is particularly well proportioned with ideal length of leg and matching length of body. His coat was not in the very best nick on the day. Well broken up blenheim colour. Easily the best mover in the class from all angles. It turned out nobody could beat him today, so he ended up with the CC & BOB.
2nd Bloice’s Scotlass Power Of Love JW ShCM
Powerful, masculine male, somewhat on the short-legged side and thus not the proportions of the winner. Typical head, but his eyes are rather too prominent. Strong neck. Deep and capacious body. Beautiful coat and especially pleasing colour. Falling off somewhat too much over the croup. Moved quite well, but also in movement left a somewhat short-legged impression.
3rd Nichol’s Chantismere Chamberlin
Res Betts’ Kaidee Jasper Karrot at Shelpet
Limit (8, 2)
1st Barwell & Brewer’s Bepa Bowfort Touch Of Class for Charlottetown
Elegant male with quality, blenheim without a lot of markings. Easily the best head in the class. Attractive expression and excellent skull. Enough length of foreface. Moderate neck. Firm topline, well set tail. Pleasing coat quality. The soundest mover in the class.
2nd Leach’s Ouzlewell’s Leonardo
Masculine male, compact and well developed. Rather more fleshy in head than the winner and somewhat round in skull. Strong neck. Balanced angulation in front and behind. Beautiful coat and colour. He moved quite well from the side, unusually stable in front, but with some tendency to crab.
3rd Mangham’s Castlewytch Perfection of Charnavale JW
Res Kynaston’s Granasil Golden Nugget
VHC Hall’s Clockpelters The Viceroy at Dalhallpals
Open (7, 2)
1st Barwell’s Charlottetown Cecil
A dog of very attractive type and quality, blenheim, well proportioned and with an attractive outline even if falling off a bit too much over his croup. Typical, masculine head with pleasing head proportions and quality, almost flat in skull. Well set ears. Balanced neck. Moderate, but balanced angulation both ends. Moved well coming and going, most of the time kept his balance well from the side, he could have some more focus and show some more drive. Res CC
2nd Gibb-Stuart’s Ch Chantismere Push My Button JW ShCM
Powerful, masculine dog of attractive type, very well shown. Strong, masculine head, I would prefer some more refinement. Rather low set ears. Powerful neck. Well angulated in both ends, I would have preferred him slightly more up on legs. Strong bone. He moved well from all angles. Beautiful coat in excellent condition.
3rd Kynaston’s Granasil Golden Nugget
Res Hughes’ Ch Loranka’s Cupid JW
VHC Lunt’s Oaktreepark Alfie
Veteran (4, 0) This class included two attractive veterans who moved better than most of the younger dogs.
1st Davies’ Bowcara Casanova
Well made, well constructed tricolor with an attractive masculine head, well set ears, excellent expression. Strong neck and bone. Firm topline, he covers slightly more ground than I prefer. Moved well from all angles. Not in optimal coat condition.
2nd Mangham’s Maibee Perfect Touch of Charnavale JW
Another well made dog, blenheim, more compact than the winner. Attractive head and expression if not the muzzle of the winner. Firm topline. Capacious body. Another who moved well, especially from the side and from behind.
3rd Hall’s Clockpelters The Viceroy at Dalhallpals

Best Puppy Bitch Richardson’s Kringleholme Seruna

Minor Puppy (12, 1)
1st Richardson’s Kringleholme Seruna
Feminine blenheim bitch who has come a long way for her age, she won this class with something in hand as she scored in both type and soundness. Attractive head and expression. Strong, well set neck. Well made body, firm topline, well set and carried tail. She needs to loose some of her puppy fat with maturity. Moved well from all directions. Best puppy.
2nd Turnbull’s Peakdowns Candice
Another attractive bitch puppy who is well developed for her age, but rather long-cast. Attractive, feminine head, well rounded, but with an almost flat skull. Beautiful, dark, expressive eyes. Lovely neck. Balanced angulation both ends, another who moved quite well and kept her outline on the move.
3rd Edwards’ Trehys My Little Brodie
Res Waddington’s Spindlepoint Donna Summer
VHC Collier’s Serenglade Ohana
Puppy (11, 2)
1st MacAlpine’s Delhaze Dolly Daydream with Annatika
A well developed bitch puppy with a lovely head and expression. Large eyes, expressive. Well set ears on an excellent skull. Pleasing neck, she stood well over her legs and feet. Deep chest of suitable width, she has come a long way. Beautiful coat and colour. She moved better than most from all angles.
2nd Callaghan & Todd’s Ellemich Parisienne at Callyspride
Well proportioned, elegant bitch with a well chiseled head and a lovely expression from well placed, dark eyes. Long neck. Firm topline, but falls away too much over the croup. Beautiful coat, unbroken colour. She moved quite well from the side, but could perfect her coming and going.
3rd Parson’s Lemaritz Moon Beam
Res Bloice’s Scotlass Paper Rainbow
VHC Collier’s Serenglade Ohana
Junior (8, 0) Difficult class to judge as they were all very different and scored in opposite virtues.
1st Hogan’s Miletree Ophelia at Stavonga
Blenheim bitch of generally high quality and a particularly attractive head; very well proportioned, almost flat skull, shallow stop and a beautiful expression from her large, dark eyes. Compact body, well developed, deep and capacious, I would not want her any lower on legs. Firm topline, tended to fall away too much over the croup standing, but looked better on the move and moved better than most from all angles. Excellent legs and feet. Beautiful, well conditioned coat. Very well handled. Res CC
2nd Sidgwick’s Salegreen Peony for Paulian JW
Standing, this bitch showed a beautiful outline and stood so firmly over her legs and feet. Rather high in brow and her ears could be higher set. Beautiful eyes. Attractive neck, well set into shoulders. She moved quite well from all angles. Not in the coat condition of the winner.
3rd Hobbs’ Beaconsfylde Salutation
Res Barwell’s Charlottetown Summer
VHC Nolan’s Castlewytch Jubilation at Jernito
Yearling (3, 0)
1st Nolan’s Castlewytch Jubilation at Jernito
Placed fifth in the previous class. Standing she quite filled my eye, even if somewhat short on legs. Expressive head. Strong neck. Firm topline. She used her legs reasonably well on the move, but her very high tail carriage spoiled the picture for me.
2nd Smith’s Crimbledale Jemima at Beaudale
Black and tan bitch, another who could do with some more length of leg. Pleasing skull, but far too much stop which disturbed the expression. Compact body. Firm topline. She is very mobile and reasonably sound.
3rd Glenn’s Shelpet Samara at Lilorchard
Graduate (6, 1)
1st Lee’s Calonlan Perfect Kiss for Kelrick JW ShCM
A very attractive blenheim bitch in every way. Very attractive, feminine head with almost flat skull, well set ears. Beautiful, dark, expressive eyes. Strong neck. Deep and capacious body with firm topline. I would have preferred some more angulation behind, but she used what she had to her advantage and moved with livelyness, drive and extension, at all times carrying herself well. Very pleasing coat and colour. CC
2nd Whitfield’s Aristor Pink Topaz for Bevelmount
Ruby bitch with very attractive proportions and overall balance. Typical head with excellent skull and beautiful eyes, even if I would have preferred less stop. Firm topline. She moved well from the side, reasonable coming and going. Lovely coat and colour.
3rd Claydon’s Brymarden Honeybun
Res Lyond’s Crimbledale Betty Boo
VHC Cullingford’s Kentixentotal Affinity
Post Graduate (12, 2)
1st **, Kirschbaum & Vorderstrasse’s Bonitos Companeros Opal
An attractive tricolor bitch with excellent proportions and overall balance. Typical head with excellent width of skull, lovely expression. Strong neck. Well angulated in both ends. Acceptable tailset. She moved with normal soundness from all directions. Attractive coat. Well handled.
2nd Rees’ Embeth Bonny Boat JW
Another attractive bitch, not dissimilar to the winner in several ways and a very good mover from the side, but somewhat lower on legs. She has a lovely skull and beautiful eyes if somewhat heavy in lips. Strong neck. Very pleasing topline. Beautiful coat and colour. She was the best mover in the class from the side, but not as good coming and going.

Res Rix & Berry’s Ricksbury Royal Tapestry

1st Claydon’s Brymarden Honeysuckle JW
A very well constructed bitch who looked really good from the side and had a lovely energy. Strong bitch head with a pleasing skull. I would have preferred larger and darker eyes. Well set ears. Balanced angulation in front and behind. Beautiful coat and colour.
2nd Betts’ Diddlidors Kerching at Shelpet JW
A bitch on the large and strong side, very sound and well constructed, but longer in body than my ideal. Well set neck, well angulated both ends, deep and capacious body, just a little too much of everything. Very sound mover.
3rd Hobbs’ Carolus Felicitation at Beaconsfylde JW ShCM
Res Hughes’ Loranka’s Turn The Magic On
VHC Turnbull’s Peakdowns Mystic
Limit (7, 0)
1st Ryan’s Cavalli Beautiful Life JW ShCM
Small, very feminine bitch, very athletic and energetic and the optimal show girl. Very feminine in head, a bit round in skull, but full of expression. Well set neck. Short, compact body with firm topline. Easily the best mover from the side in the class, but rather untidy as viewed from behind.
2nd Edwards’ Magic Charm’s Witchy Woman to Delhaze
Standing this bitch really filled my eyes with an attractive silhouette and a lovely head and expression. Well angulated in both ends. Sadly she did not have much energy in movement and then tended to lose some of her outline. Beautiful coat and colour.
3rd Inglis’ Craigowl Keep In Touch
Res Rivhardson’s Lovetrac Glitterberry at Kringleholme
VHC Etheridge’s Shelpet Toffee Crumble at Diddlidors
Open (5, 1)
1st Bayliss’ Castlewytch Touch Of Class JW
Very well made, sound bitch, not instantly eye-catching, she spoke to my mind over my heart. Her head has pleasing proportions, but could have more quality and a more intense expression. Strong neck, very well set. Excellent construction and angulation, paved the way for her outstandingly sound, well balanced, no nonsense movement from all angles.
2nd Hughes’ Loranka’s Kiss The Stars
Sound, well constructed bitch, not quite as elegant all over as I would have preferred. Well angulated in both ends. Compact body, firm topline. Good tailset. Normal, sound movement from all directions.
3rd Rix & Berry’s Ch Ricksbury Rumour Has It JW
Res Tranchant’s Look Like Romy De La Fieffe Au Songeur
Veteran (4, 2)
1st Rees’ Ch Tusculana Carmella at Embeth
A very attractive tricolour bitch of excellent type and quality. Beautiful head and expression. Strong neck. Firm topline. I would prefer a higher tailset. Moved with normal soundness from all directions. Beautiful coat and colour. Best veteran
2nd Lunt’s Oaktreepark Royal Ellie
A bitch of more general spaniel type, large and long-bodied. Well set ears. Eyes are too prominent. Strong neck, well developed body.
