Mrs
Bowdler kindly sent an appreciation and report:
"I congratulate everyone who braved the storms to attend this most
enjoyable day. Our president, Susan Burgess, had the brainwave for the
event seven years ago and it had all the ingredients for a really good
day out and a title worth winning. I was honoured to be invited to judge
but, with so many quality puppies, I found it hard to place some second,
not to be seen again.
On the whole movement was good, but I would love to have seen more powerful
hind action. In some cases strength and drive will come with age. A few
small eyes, and one or two bitchy heads in otherwise good dogs. I was
sorry there were no Rubies present.
BOB and BB was Rix and Berry's Ricksbury Royal Embrace. A really super
little girl who, I am sure, will follow in the footsteps of her illustrious
mother (Ch Ricksbury Royal Temptress). Excellent head, lovely eyes and
a sweet gentle expression. Correct size, nice body, neck, and shoulders.
For all of us, when judging, it comes down to who you would like to take
home, and I would dearly like to have kidnapped her.
BD and RBIS was Marshall's Greenhow Goldfinch. A very elegant, straight
moving, bold puppy. Well broken marking, pearly white and bright chestnut
coat. Correct head and nice foreface.
The smooth running of the day was thanks to Sheena MacLaine and her helpers,
and my kind steward, Rob Sansom."
